On September 13th, Kerri completed her Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways (FSK10219) with Pivot Training. She joined the SEE program in August last year, with the goal of improving her computer skills.
Initially, Kerri found it hard to engage in class, believing digital skills were beyond her abilities. However, through the support of her trainer, who patiently guided her through each step, she started to see progress.
Through the SEE program, Kerri mastered:
• Navigating MyGov
• Sending emails
• Conducting online research
• Using computer programs such as Work, Excel and Google Docs
Through each new skill learnt, Kerri’s confidence grew as she once thought these abilities were impossible. Kerri continued to learn, even enrolling in an online typing course, where she loved watching her virtual tree grow as her skills improved. This newfound ability also allowed her to assist fellow students with tasks such as logging in and accessing MyGov—showing just how much she had learnt.
Submitting her final assessment was a moment of triumph, as she reflected on her journey from doubt to success, realising just how much she had achieved. Kerri’s story is a testament to the power of determination and support, and she has inspired others with her progress. All the best for your future endeavours Kerri!
